Good Advice

Twinning is winning ;-)
It's important to remember that we're fighting a war right now. At this very moment, numberless courses of people are fighting for good and evil(in a spiritual sense) and you know what? I'm one of the foot soldiers!! I'm on the front lines!! And so I'm writing to you, a fellow soldier who is preparing to come to the front lines, to tell you that it is SO IMPORTANT to study and treasure up the word of God. That's scriptures, talks, anything!! The coolest part of this battle is that we know who will win. We know who will come out victorious. But it is our job to make sure to save as many people as possible!! Look at everyone around you how God sees them. They have so much potential. So I want you to do what I tell every investigator out here. No one can make you believe!! No one can tell you what is true, besides God, because he is the most important. So if you ask God with a sincere heart, you really want to know, real intent( means that whatever answer you get you will DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!!) and faith in Jesus Christ, you can know the truth of all things through the holy ghost.

Tithe your time.

The following is inspiration from a member of the ward I'm serving in, and I thought it was such a good idea that I wanted to share it with all of you.

This individual and his wife were both unemployed, but they still wanted to pay tithing. So they figured out that with 168 hours in the week, they would dedicate 16.8 (one- tenth) hours of their time to the Lord throughout the week. So they kept track of everything; Church, scripture study, family home evening, mutual, home and visiting teaching, and meetings. Usually these things didn't add up to 16.8, so they did everything they could to get their goal! Service, more scripture study, things like that. They couldn't pay tithing, but they truly lived the law of consecration! I think that applying this can really bring blessings!

This week was really great. We had transfers, and I'm staying here with Sister Cushing and we have been blessed with a CAR (thank goodness, I might have died this summer on a bike). We are working to see more success and hopefully we will!!

We went fishing for our P-day activity! We didn't catch anything, but it was a beautiful day and very calming :)

Until next week!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Yesterdays' Sacrament Meeting was so good! The speakers spoke on motherhood, and how women who do not have children are not inferior to those who do. One speaker spoke on how you can become the best mother you can be. There was a lot of good advice, but I personally won't need to use it for a while. ;)

We visited a man and his wife after church who gave us BANANA PUDDING!!! I love banana pudding. I don't know how one lives without it.

I don't have much to talk about, but things are slowly picking up in Albertville. We finally have an investigator who seems promising, but that's not the only reason we are out here :)

I love this work and as we start to go into the summer I am going to try and love it more! Thank you so much for all of your prayers and support. I love you all!

Stake Conference

This Sunday was the Madison AL stake conference! It was the first time I had to drive over an hour to go to one. New things every day! The speakers were really awesome. They talked about the blessings of the Temple and temple work. One speakers was the stake Patriarch and his talk was about spiritual gifts. He read D&C 46:11-12, and said that a ward is a body- we need everyone to work together in order to be functional!! We all have unique spiritual gifts and we can bless each other through them!!

The stake choir sang Come Thou Fount and it was so good. The stake president then spoke about the lyrics, and about the word 'Ebenezer'. Ebenezer is a sort of Ensign, or a stone of help/monument. He said that our testimonies are a monument and whenever we share our testimonies, we are remembering what it was that first gave us our testimonies :)

There's been a lot of stretching and a lot of growing this week. I have laughed so much and also cried too. But I love this mission so much!!!

We had a ward party for Cinco de Mayo. There were 3 pinatas!! And a lot of food.

Here are the pictures from the party :) as you can tell, I'm a hoot. ;)

I love you all!!

We got in a car accident this week...

Minor damage
It wasn't bad. Some guy hit us from behind and it barely scratched our car. Nobody got hurt, or ticketed. But the other guy was a little suspicious, so he should have been tested. It just delayed the missionary work for about an hour.

BUT that was pretty much the only exciting thing that happened this week. I wish I could share more but the well of excitement is dry at this point. But it's getting hotter here in Alabama! I never really knew what humidity was like until this week. It's rough, and it will only get rougher :) But I will survive!! The summer will come and then it will end :)

I have had so much growth in the last few weeks it is crazy!! I can't even explain it that great... but I love it here. Not so much in the moment, but when I look back it's just great. Kind of like a rose garden :)

I love you all!! Stay safe :)
