This week I ate a bunny

We had lunch at a member's home this week and it was rabbit'n'rice. It tasted fine, but all I could think about during the meal was a cute little bunny hopping around a meadow. The member then fed us amazing chocolate cake with fudge icing and it was delicious.

Last night, we had a devotional that the missionaries put together. All 4 of us spoke on points of the 1st missionary lesson, the Restoration. There were musical numbers in between :) It wasn't the turnout we wanted, but you could feel the spirit sooo strongly it was amazing!! We had an ice cream bar afterward, and I think everyone enjoyed it a lot :) I learned you don't have to fill a chapel with people to have it filled with the spirit.

Today has been sooo stressful. We went to the church this morning to email, and the internet wasn't connected!! So we went grocery shopping (spent $22. We're so frugal) and we went to a zone activity (minute to win it games, also volleyball). We then went to a members' house at like 2 and had lunch and played Mexican Trains (it's so fun!) Then we tried and tried to find somewhere to email. The university library didn't have enough computers, also you only had 30 minutes, the city library is closed, so now we're at an AWESOME members' home!

I didn't take any pictures this week, but I will repent of that and do it next week!! I love you all!!

And This is Life Eternal

Okay, first of all, there was a really good lesson in church yesterday. The teacher had us think about someone we were close to and write down things that made us close to them.  After we were done, she related that in how we should become close to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It was a very good lesson and I suggest you all read the talk that the lesson was on. :) (https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2017/04/and-this-is-life-eternal?lang=eng)

This week was great!!! We met the cutest family from Mexico and they are going to come to our English classes. It was super crazy because we got a text from them on Saturday randomly and we were able to have a quick visit that night. They are an awesome family and I'm so excited to help them learn 2 languages: English and THE GOSPEL!!!

We had exchanges this week, and we were on our way home and my hands felt really dry so I said to Hermana H (who was driving) "I need lotion" and then I got a thought in my head and rolled down the window and stuck my hands out. About 30 seconds later I pulled my hands back in and they felt like I just dumped a bottle of lotion on them :) So humidity heals dry hands!! (I believe that day was 90 degrees with 90% humidity)

Well I had plans to write a long and meaningful email this week but it looks like that's all I have. I love you all and I'm super grateful for all of your prayers and support.
Love,

Mosquito: State Bird of Alabama

We have discovered that our porch is perfect for 2 hammocks and that is how we have been doing language study that way. Until the roaches come out, then we run inside. Also we use lots of bug spray when we're out there :)

We had Zone Conference this week, and it was mostly about planning and goals. When you have a goal, you need to make a plan to reach that goal. In addition, you need to have a goal to make plans, because what is the point if you don't have an end in mind?? It was a very inspiring conference, and also we talked a lot about family history. You know it's important when you hear about it every meeting you go to :)

I had some inspiration last night. I have numbered the paragraphs in my patriarchal blessing, and when I realize something in my life that goes along with the blessing I make a journal entry about it. I have a little notebook that my blessing sits in. I like reflecting on the ways that I have been blessed and the things that I have learned.

It is getting more humid and more hot by the day, but we are keepin it cool ;)
I love Alabama!!

In every condition, in sickness and health...

Tennessee is about 15 miles from Athens
So this week, one of our missionaries got sick, so we exchanged and I stayed with her all day yesterday while our companions went to Church and did enough missionary work for 2 companionships :) It was really cool, because I got to read general conference talks and the Book of Mormon. (but also not cool, because the sister had the stomach flu) Do you know how much I love the Book of Mormon????? It is so amazing. I love being able to dedicate all my focus to reading it. I never want to go a day in my life without reading from it's pages.

I miss playing the clarinet.
We got invited over to a members' for dinner. That was GOOD. They had all sorts of classic american food. We then went into their basement (1st basement I've seen in Alabama!!) and played ping pong. They let us play some clarinets for a bit, and I loved being able to play again!! I really miss it :) Then we drove in their Mini-van and found a spot to watch fireworks for about 20 minutes :) on the way back, all of us sang 'America the Beautiful' a cappella. It was so much fun :)

On Saturday we helped a lady clean her walls... she is currently living in a friends house that was uninhabited for 4 years. The walls that we cleaned were a part of the room that was the 'smoke room'. So they were FILTHY. D: All 4 of us worked for an hour and they still look soooo dirty. She fed us real Chicago-style hot dogs and I found out I don't like Chicago-style hot dogs :) She's a really nice lady, and we were happy to serve her :)

I love Athens!! I'm so grateful to be in this area!!
I love you all!!

Week 1 in Athens!

Hermana Adams and Hermana H
So I drove the car from Albertville to Birmingham. We had an awesome meeting and I got to see a lot of missionaries that I hadn't seen in 3 months!!! Then we moved all of our stuff, and then I drove the car from Birmingham to Athens :) So lot's of driving. Athens looks a lot like Albertville! We share a car with the english sisters here, so we get a car about every other day.

We taught the 9 year olds in primary on Sunday! Their teachers were gone so we filled in. Then another member asked if we could teach their class next week while they go on vacation. Only this time, it will be the 16-17 year olds. I'm excited!!

Athens is such a cool place! We served breakfast to Veterans and their families on Saturday. That was a very neat experience! It took place in a museum, and afterward we got to look around. I love museums.

Thank you all for your love and support!! I love you!
